MTS is a an equipment designed to create numerous microscopic holes in the patients skin by rolling 192 very thin 0.25 – 2.0 mm long needles that puncture holes in the skin.
Under normal conditions, there is not only a limit to the amount of medicinal waters that the skin can absorb, but other requirements such as molecular weight of less than 500Da and fat solubility are a prerequisite. However, MTS procedures makes it possible for medicinal waters with heavy molecular weight, that are hard to ionize, and that are hard to polarize enter into the skin, letting the skin absorb various valid ingredients to maximize clinical effects.
In this way, at first, MTS was used to improve medicinal water transmissions.
